Meet the team
Dave Cook - Chairman
Dave Cook, a recently retired professional from the Life Science Sales and Marketing industry, embodies a personable and dedicated team player. Throughout his career, he emphasised cross-cultural and cross-functional collaboration with a contagious smile. Beyond work, his love for the performing arts, especially live music, remains undiminished, continually exploring new bands to broaden his musical horizons.
Being actively engaged with a vibrant and transformative group, Dave finds immense joy and motivation in the team's unwavering enthusiasm and collaborative spirit. As the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, his role revolves around steering and guiding the Board to fulfil their duties while championing The Theatre Shed's excellent reputation through adept management, leadership, and extensive networking.
His involvement has deepened his comprehension of inclusivity and fostered empathy towards the challenges faced by children with special needs and their families. As a proud father of two daughters who transitioned from being Youth Theatre members to Children's Theatre mentors, Dave witnesses firsthand how the workshops and performances significantly enrich lives, not just of his own children but of every participant.
For Dave, The Theatre Shed's impact on young lives is pivotal. It fosters confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging, nurturing creativity while fostering new friendships. He passionately advocates that supporting The Theatre Shed translates into tangible positive changes in the lives of young individuals, contributing to the betterment of the local community.
