Meet the team
Emily Culverhouse - Patron
Emily initially engaged with the organisation during her tenure as Mayor of Chesham. Her commitment to The Theatre Shed was evident when she chose it as her primary mayoral charity, eventually assuming the role of Chairman of the Board of Trustees. However, when her responsibilities as Mayor extended into a second term, she transitioned to the role of Patron to maintain her active involvement with Shed.
With a background in theatre, Emily has a rich history of performances in plays and musicals, regularly participating in The Theatre Shed's community productions. Beyond her theatrical pursuits, she practices as a barrister and actively contributes to the local community as a Town and District Councillor. Her involvement extends to being a Director and co-founder of Chiltern Voice, the local radio station, and revitalising the Chesham Youth Council in 2018. In her leisure moments, Emily indulges in her love for musical theatre, either attending shows or sharing her expertise on local theatre and show tunes through Chiltern Voice.
Witnessing the joy on children's faces during rehearsals and performances remains a source of delight for Emily. Her support for Theatre Shed is unwavering, offering assistance wherever and whenever possible to contribute to its success.
She passionately believes in the organisation’s capacity to benefit the entire community and sees The Theatre Shed as a source of immense value. Emily's dedication to Shed stems from her conviction that participation instills a profound sense of worth in individuals involved with the program—a sentiment she considers invaluable in nurturing their sense of self.
